The Commonplace is built so your writing never leaves your device. Everything you write — titles, entries, photos, and video — is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB storage. No account, login, or server-side database is used, and Glenn Pansensoy (the site's author) cannot read, access, or recover anything you write here.
Because this data lives only in your browser, clearing your browser data, switching devices, or uninstalling your browser will permanently delete it. Use the "Export as JSON" or "Export as HTML" buttons on the home screen to back up your writing.
This site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
[State here whether you use any analytics tool, e.g. Google Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics, and what it collects. If you use none, say so explicitly.]
Because The Commonplace stores everything locally, you are always in control: delete any entry from within the app, clear your browser's site data for this domain to erase everything at once, or use your browser's ad-blocking and cookie controls to limit what advertising partners can see.
